MEET JILLIE

After 15 years spent in consumer insights, I launched Styled By Jillian - a wardrobe consultancy where I bring together my lifelong passion for clothing, my love of organizing, my knowledge of fit and apparel construction, and my inherent ability to observe, listen and understand others' in order to help them look and feel like their best selves. And finally putting my fashion design degree to work, I created Jillie P - a collection of modern wearables made from vintage quilts, breathing new life back into each remarkable work of art.

Q & A

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO TAKE OUT OF TOWN VISITORS?
Griffith Observatory! I live a few blocks from the main entrance, and the hike up to the observatory is gorgeous, quiet, and smells spicy and plant-y and you CANNOT believe you're in the middle of a massive city.

WHAT IS ONE (SMALL OR BIG) THING YOU ARE HOPING TO ACCOMPLISH IN YOUR BUSINESS THIS YEAR?

Growth, in general - more new clients & repeat clients for Styled By Jillian is always something I'm working towards. For Jillie P, it’s getting every pattern, construction and materials detail for each item finalized so I can OFFICIALLY launch.

WHAT DOES BEING LIBERATED MEAN TO YOU?
Liberated means a few things. First, it means the ability to do what I want to do. To spend my time working hard and earning money and being fulfilled by work that I love to do. Second, it means breaking out of the confines of what I thought was 'right': working in a job that was steady, well-respected, and financially dependable; fitting the profile of what someone my age and with my education would do. It means being able to take risks, chances, and do things that are scary, that might fail, because if you don't try, you'll NEVER know. And failure is ok. You just try again.
