Couture Events and Elle Bridal Boutique Founder and Creative Director Krystel Tien gives us the five business resources she can’t live without:

Summits and retreats are an invaluable way to see how others in your industry do it and get advice from the best. I attended the Engage! wedding industry business summit and it changed the way I think about my business. Every industry has business summits and conferences and this would be the #1 thing I would invest in.

An online CRM is essential. We use Aisle Planner for ours, but in every industry there are systems to help you keep track of your clients and store important information about each client. This is especially useful if you work with a team, so everyone can be on the same page. We would be lost without it!

I need a place to write down my thoughts, and keeping a journal is something that is personal but also needed for my business. Sometimes I just need to organize everything on paper and my journal helps me do this. It’s essential to my sanity.

The A Beautiful Mess iPhone app helps me get creative with my photos and make them pretty for Instagram posts. I use this app on the daily. Favorite Filter: Poppy.

Instagram! I know, I know… we all love it, but in our business it is essential for two reasons: 1. Vendor relations: We like and leave comments on our vendors’ Instagram posts to show them support and so we can keep up on what is going on with their business. 2. To show our services and products: Instagram is the place where we can show off our work, spread the word about the newest things we got in at the boutique, and tell the world what we stand for and who we are as a company.
