BIO:

Ute Leube’s enthusiasm for the healing benefits of plants and her passion for all living things led her to start blending her own skincare in the early 1970s. Even though quality, raw material were scarce, she used only chemical-free materials and perfected a process of mixing body oils and face creams for friends. Eventually, her desire for deeper knowledge about nature’s wisdom sent her on a search around the globe for the best plants to cultivate into reliable beauty products. This adventure turned into Amala Beauty and ever since, Ute has been beautifying the benefits of whole plant ingredients. Ute’s corporate philosophy is that beauty is life itself. It’s a smile, a plant, a nice word, or anything that touches us positively. True beauty goes far beyond any generally accepted beauty standard.

Q+A:

The three words that best describe me are… Natural, reliable, positive.

What was the biggest obstacle that you had to overcome before launching your business? My own doubts and fears.

How long were you in business before you started to see real growth? What do you attribute that to? There was growth from the very beginning. The market was there with interest in highly effective, natural and organic skin care.

How did you fund your dream? Both the knowledge and the finances came from another business that I co-founded.

Describe a day in your life. How do you organize your day to best optimize your time? My only tool is a priority list each day and the most important act is freeing time in my agenda in advance. Without that, the many given daily demands would bury me.

Lately I’m inspired by… Wild growing plants and their healing properties as well as the life cycle of nature during a year. In the past people celebrated turning points like summer and winter solstice and accepted the principle of living and dying, evolution and devolution.

If I weren’t doing what I do, I would be… A gardener.

A teacher or boss who influenced me is… Life itself. I take everything that happens to me personally and learn what I have to change in order to improve.

Five years from now I see myself and my company… My company established and challenged by big demands, myself in the background supporting young people who want to contribute their work life for the benefit of mankind and environment.
